How It All Started
Versa Elements was founded through a collaboration between the University of Turku, Iontau Ltd., and Field Line Automation Ltd. Researchers needed innovative tools for their work in advanced phenotyping, AI-based optimization of indoor farming, and optimizing cyanobacteria production. Together, we developed the Modular Minibiosphere technology, making it our mission to bring these advanced solutions to the wider research community.
Addressing the Need
At Versa Elements, we address the shortcomings of traditional laboratory equipment—high costs, limited functionality, and a lack of customization. Manufacturers often produce tools without fully understanding the specific needs of researchers, resulting in equipment that may not be optimized for tasks like photosynthesis or lack modern data interfaces necessary for advanced research.
